Dospara Parts House, a fixture of the PC shop scene in Akiba, just moved locations and underwent renovation January 22nd, 2016. Focusing on items for self-built PCs, Dospara deals in the latest products.
There is an event display set up by the entrance, and when items of interest and hot new products arrive in the store, they are displayed for a limited time.
When we visited the store, PC manufacturer IN WIN’s H Tower was on display for sale. The H Tower drew attention at the Computex Taipei Expo 2015 — the largest-scale PC exhibition in the world — for its case, which can open and close via electric power. If you ask a store employee, you can see for yourself how it works.
This is the Parts Snoop lineup, sets of components for building your own PC, born from shop blog posts. These sets are constructed of components that have actually been reviewed by Dospara staff, so there should be no problems with parts interfering with each other or compatibility issues. This is highly recommended for people who are just starting out with building their own PCs.
The lineup on the second floor has graphics cards, power supplies, PC cases and more. Dospara stocks limited-quantity colored versions of the Fulmo-Q ENERMAX PC cases. These stylish cases start at 3,000 yen, and are quite reasonable.
For graphics cards, cards from the maker PALiT — which boasts a substantial lineup at Dospara Parts House — are recommended.
Well-known in Akiba, the brand Kurouto Shikou, which develops various kinds of peripheral equipment, is also abundantly stocked. As the name Kurouto (meaning “expert”) implies, this brand’s product development is aimed at the professional user, and takes pride in its steady brand popularity in Akiba.
Other goods are on display for sale, like the latest cases, which were topics of conversation at Computex Taipei 2015, as well as water-cooling kits, which can be tested out for the first time.
The third floor handles monitor-related items, and also has expanded to include a showroom for Shanghai Donya, one of Dospara’s brands. The lineup here contains lifestyle products, car products, PC parts, cameras, video peripherals, and more. Shanghai Donya is overflowing with its wide-ranging development lineup of interesting items and convenient goods.
This five-port charging station, which accepts connections from up to five USB devices at the same time, can charge each port with stable voltage and current. This is an essential item for Akiba people who are carrying multiple devices like digital cameras, smartphones, and portable gaming systems.
These attachment lenses, when attached to a smartphone camera, allow the user to take side-by-side 3D movies and pictures. While it may be simply constructed using a mirror, 3D movies can be filmed using just this product.
To view the filmed 3D movies, there is a head mount display kit for smartphones. After opening the front cover and setting the smartphone, the wearer can enjoy the side-by-side movies and images in full 3D by looking at the smartphone through the lenses.
This waterproof keyboard, which can be washed when dirty, is a unique item.
