Try Amusement Tower is a game center building in Akihabara with five floors, where each floor features differently-themed game titles. The arcade, famous in Akihabara, relocated to its current location 6 years ago.
The third floor, Amusement Pachinko Slots, is mostly filled with pachinko machines. One recent trend that's made a big hit are the Anime Slots, especially themed after anime titles.
They even have MJ5R, the mahjong game that lets you play by competing over the internet.
The fourth floor is the Music Games Floor. There's everything from machines with controllers that are modeled to look like instruments to the games like Taiko no Tatsujin that lets you beat to the rhythm.
It's been more than 20 years since music games began making their appearance at game centers. The variety of music games has continued to increase, bringing games like ones where you operate visuals and characters in addition to keeping the beat.
The fifth floor is the Crane Lab No. 2 and Music Games Floor. In addition to crane games, you'll see some nostalgic game machines that you may remember from Japan's department store rooftops in the past. There are also some analog games that have seen a recent comeback where you can win prizes for guiding the ping pong ball successfully through the machine.
Floor six is the Video Game Floor. Here you'll mainly find recent fighting games like Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme vs. Maxi Boost, Tekken 5DX and more.
They also have larger units like Darius EX, the shooting game that is played with a dual monitor display.
Floor seven is the Video and Online Games Floor. Most of these games are the latest games you can play by competing online. You can purchase a special data card to save your game data and manage items that you acquire in the game.
The eighth floor is the Retro Games Floor. Play the popular titles from the video game golden age of the 80s and 90s, even today!
"We used an affiliated company that's great at keeping so many arcade games. We love games that are connected to the same arcade game machines from those days," says the owner.
Try is clearly a paradise for all kinds of gamers.
