FAL Akihabara Listening Room: Three-dimensional Music That Feels Like a Concert

Presented by Mr. Furuyama, who also has many friends overseas, FAL Akihabara Listening Room is a store selling original speakers that are particular about the three-dimensional quality of sound. Just as the name of the listening room suggests, this is a speciality audio shop where you can actually sit and listen to music, in addition to purchasing speakers.

FAL’s distinctive feature is flat, square units and Heil drivers. The combination of these two is what produces FAL’s unique tonal quality.

The lineup can be roughly divided into three types of speakers: C40s, C60s, and C90s.

Furuyama’s speakers have also featured on the cover of an Italian audio magazine.

Sanjugen to dagakki no tame no “seki,” was playing at the time of our interview. Recorded in 1978 (Showa 53), the sound quality of this analog record has a presence and atmosphere that makes you feel the music is being performed right in front of you.

Listening is free of charge, so try experiencing this discerning three-dimensional sound reproduction. Online bookings are required to visit the store. Alternatively, if you are hoping to visit shortly, please get in touch by telephone.
